A documentary series about cats doing what cats do when their humans aren't around.
By leaving a camera in easy reach I was able to capture these shots when the cats were doing their thing, getting up to no good or just lazing around. I wanted to capture them in our man-made world, with unmade beds and dirty dishes in the sink, to show just how well adapted they are to making themselves at home.
Forgotten Memories of Summer
Faded, ethereal images, evocative of those wisps of memory that so often flicker just beyond reach. Fleeting moments, half remembered or maybe imagined.
The Prophecy of Birds
It is not without good reason that birds are the subject of much folklore and myth. They leave behind earth’s pull at will. They presage disaster by leaving for safety. They are absent from the scenes of ancient atrocities. They flock and wheel across the evening sky - becoming one impossible multitude. Their calls herald the end of each day and the beginning of the next. But sometimes they simply wait, and you have to wonder what it is that they know. The series is ongoing.
A lone seabird hovers in the the thermals above white chalk cliffs, momentarily exempted from the earth's pull. The title of this piece refers to Sir Isaac Newton - when asked how he discovered the law of gravity he replied, "By thinking about it all the time.”
