It is not without good reason that birds are the subject of much folklore and myth. They leave behind earth’s pull at will. They presage disaster by leaving for safety. They are absent from the scenes of ancient atrocities. They flock and wheel across the evening sky - becoming one impossible multitude. Their calls herald the end of each day and the beginning of the next.
But sometimes they simply wait, and you have to wonder what it is that they know.
